Mike Filsaime’s sneaky upsell tricks for The Resource Report

Here’s a marketing trick you’re going to want to put in your swipe file.

This trick is so amazingly simple, but has so much exploitable power, that when I first saw it I literally slapped myself.

“Why didn’t I think of that!”

If you haven’t seen it already, Mike Filsaime has recently released his report The Resource Report – a free PDF report containing all of the resources he uses to run his online businesses, and explaining the benefits of each.

I signed up for it yesterday.

To be brutally honest, the report is full of affiliate links, and if you’ve been in the internet marketing industry for the past two-or-three years, then you probably already know most of these sites.

But his marketing is great!

And it’s worth signing up for the report just to see what he does.

So what was Mike Filsaime’s sneaky upsell marketing trick?

Well, immediately after you sign up for his free report, you’re presented with an upsell for a package of 13 internet marketing resources for $197. (Remember - This is before you can get to his free report)

It’s not a bad offer – pretty cheap considering the prices of other internet marketing packages out there.

But he then attaches some pain to saying “No” to the upsell…

His sales copy uses the line:

“…but you must act right now - not tomorrow - not next week - if you click away form this page this offer is gone forever.”

Scarcity - I love it!

He then makes you check one of two radio buttons to continue:

Yes! Please let me have this unbelievably incredible package…” etc

OR

No thanks. I know I’ll never be given this opportunity ever again and I’m OK with that…” etc

If you click on No, you then have to click a button which reads:

“I’m Afraid I’ll Have to Say Goodbye to This Offer Forever”

Man! He pummels you hard with the scarcity card.

But it’s pretty convincing.

And even though it might seem like he’s making you jump through hoops, it all works pretty seamlessly and doesn’t feel invasive.

But it gets better…

If you make it to the No button without buying, his next trick is to offer you an almost identical package – for just $97 – that’s $100 less than the original package.

I love it!

This is definitely one you’ll want to put in your swipe file. As I say, it’s worth signing up just to see his marketing in action.
